ARRL Forum with Jay Bellows, KØQB, Dakota Division Director
What is the League doing to protect our frequencies; for example, internet over power lines?  Jay will bring you up to date on League actions and plans to work with the FCC on this an many other issues of great importance to amateur radio.  Get your questions ready and look forward to a lively, highly interactive session with Jay.

10 Ghz and Above...The Leading Edge, Bob Wesslund, WØAUS, and Lenny Klosinski, KØSHF,
will show you this exotic equipment and tell you how it works.  They will discuss using reflection off downtown buildings and rain scatter to extend the range of microwave contacts.  You will see and touch big dish antennas, little squiters, waveguides, transmitters, receivers, and many home-built pieces of equipment including several modified circuit boards extracted from radar detectors.  Learn how to get started and how to get help in this exciting leading edge of amateur Radio where you can brew your own hot hardware.

Youth in Ham Radio, Gordy Hanson, NØZRD
will lead youth in talking about the future of amateur radio.  Find out what Ham Radio has to offer from the younger crowd.  Both youth and the youth-at-heart will enjoy this seminar.  Everyone will find out what is happening with youth today in amateur radio and what you see coming in the air waves of the future.  A special prize drawing will be held during the session.
Severe Weather vs. Tornado?
"TWister Sisters"   Peggy Willenburg, KCØKZB, and Melanie Metz, KCØMXQwill present a very up-close and personal account of the biggest severe weather day of 2003. Be prepared to see a tornado from 50 yards away, and catch a view of a huge wall cloud and tornado right at sunset. Some dramatic footage of the recent F4 tornado that caused massive destruction in Hallam, NE will also be shown, along with a very personal story of rescue and loss.

VHF/UHF Mobile Contesting
Jon, WØAMT and John, NGØR will present some ideas about participating in VHF and UHF contests as a rover. How to get started, what work and what doesn't. The struggle to generate some serious RF while driving down the road with an 8 foot Yagi beam attached to the back of the truck. (Trees may not be your friends.) VHF to Microwave in a couple of years. Pictures and videos from other local and regional rovers will also be shown.

Emergency Minnesota Packet Radio Network, Erik Westgard, NY9D
presents an update on what's happening with the Emergency Minnesota Amateur Packet Network Status. He will also highlight a new LINUX disaster database system and use of 802.11 in the system.

Latest News on BPL Direct from the ARRL
BPL is alive and well in Minnesota. at the FCC Forum in Dayon, Riley Hollingsworth said that in his personal opinion, BPL is the greatest threat faced by amateur radio since it was shut down in WWII. Ed Hare, W1RFQ, from the ARRL Laboratory is here to tell you all about BPL, its' impact on HF communications and to answer your questions. Ed will play a video that will show you firsthand what has been seen in several areas where BPL is deployed.

Minnesota Emergency Response and Amateur Radio 
Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Health, Office of Emergency Preparedness will speak about their use of Amateur Radio as a back-up communicaton method for the Health Alert Network (HAN).
